When I first saw the pattern from Frog & Cast I knew immediately I wanted to knit my own Frog + Toad. Knitting these buddies and then making tiny garments (!) was such a joy from the initial cast on that I could not resist offering a kit to share this goodness with you. Kelson DK offers two 50 grams skeins in hand dyed colors River Grass and Tumbleweed, just enough yardage for swatching and making without excessive leftovers. For the wardrobe, four classic shades of Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift (a standard-bearer of Shetland yarn) are included. A tidy amount of embroidery floss rounds out all the preliminary materials you’ll need to make two good friends.

Each Kit Includes…

  • Two 50g skeins (122 yards each) of Kelson DK, 75% superwash merino and 25% nylon, in colors River Grass (A) and Tumbleweed (B)

  • Four 25g balls (115 yards each) of Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift, 100% pure Shetland Wool in Rye (C), Moss (D), Wren (E), and Burnt Ochre (F)

  • Black embroidery thread (for pupils and mouth)

  • Two removable stitch markers

You Will Also Need

  • A Frog and Toad pattern, available at Frog & Cast

  • A set of double pointed needles, US 1 (2.25 mm)

  • A crochet hook (optional), size B-1 (2.25 mm)

  • A small amount of sewing thread and waste yarn

  • A bundle of pellets, ground walnut shells, or non-perishable goods for filling the bodies

Dyed For You

The two skeins of Kelson DK contained in this Kit are hand dyed to order. Please allow 7 to 10 business days after your order for your yarn to be hand dyed, skeined, labeled, and shipped.
